CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) Information

Countryside Public Health has plans in place and is actively working with area partners in response to CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19).  We encourage you to visit the Minnesota Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control websites (links below) for the most reliable and up-to-date information.

Anyone having respiratory illness symptoms are encouraged to CALL AHEAD before going into your local healthcare facility or Countryside Public Health office location to protect other patients and the staff. By calling ahead, you allow the staff to take pre-cautionary measures to protect themselves and others and best be able to treat you.  

UPDATE ON COVID-19 TESTING & WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IF YOU ARE ILL:

Currently, there is LIMITED lab testing for COVID-19 Specimens. Highest priority specimens ONLY are being tested, which include: hospitalized patients, long-term care residents, and healthcare workers.

If a patient has a cough, fever, or upper respiratory symptoms but is NOT hospitalized, follow these steps:

  • Self-isolate for 7 days or 72 hours FEVER FREE (without fever-reducing medicine) whichever is longer.
  • STAY HOME!
  • Treat yourself as you would other illnesses.
    • REST
    • FLUIDS
    • FEVER-REDUCING MEDICINES

As of now, YOU WILL NOT BE TESTED, your SELF-ISOLATION is IMPORTANT!
