2008 Expectant Parent Classes

These classes are designed for women in their last 3-4 months of pregnancy and focus mainly on preparation for birth, infant care and development. Pre-registration is required for all classes. Please call one of the Countryside Public Health offices for more information on early pregnancy education:

Canby

Sanford Canby Medical Center 507-223-7277 Ext 282 Classes held at Sr. Haven Conference Room at 6:30 p.m. Three 5-week sessions are held each year in January, May, and September. Fee is $15 if not delivering at Sanford Hospital, Canby.

Dawson

Classes are held, usually four times a year, for those delivering at Johnson Memorial Hospital. Call Karen Streff or Bonnie Jostock at 320-769-4323 for more information.

Montevideo

Countryside Public Health Service 320-269-2174 Classes held in January, March, May, July, September and November in the Minnesota Room at the Chippewa- County Montevideo Hospital in Montevideo from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital: For schedule of classes offered, call Barb Sorenson at 320-321-8416 or the Montevideo Medical Clinic at 320-269-6435. Classes are free.

Granite Falls

Classes are held in the Granite Falls Hospital Board Room and are free of charge to those delivering at the Granite Falls Hospital, otherwise a $40 fee is charged. Call Teresa Lynne at 564-6226 to register. Time: 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Dates are:

February 4, 11, 18, 25
April 28, May 5, 12, 19
August 4, 11, 18, 25
November 3, 10, 17, 24

Must have three moms register to hold class and maximum class size is ten moms. Last class in each session moms will be certified in infant/child CPR.

Ortonville

Ortonville Hospital 320-839-4025 (Maria Botker) Classes are held at the Ortonville Hospital. Class is free OR $30. if not delivering at Ortonville Hospital. Time 6:30-9:00 p.m. Classes run for three weeks; session start dates are:
