Starting in 2010 The CDC and Minnesota Department of Health recommend flu shots for all. What immunizations should you have as a healthy adult? Take this quiz at the CDC web site to find out: http://www.immunize.org/catg.d/p4030.pdf
  • Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccination every 10 years for all adults up to the age of 65. The pertussis (whooping cough) is especially important for parents and grandparents and caregivers of small children.
  • HPV (Human papillomavirus) trade name Gardisil or Cervarix is recommended for females up to the age of 26 to prevent genital warts and cervical cancer, and for males up to the age of 26 to prevent genital warts.

You may be eligible for low cost vaccines.

If your insurance does not cover vaccines, you have a high deductable or are un-insured, some of the adult vaccines are available from Countryside Public Health at minimal cost. Act soon as this offer only will be good through until March 2011, funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Call your Countryside office more details and to schedule an appointment and get more details.



Foreign Travel

What you need to know about vaccinations and travel. The CDC has excellent information on preparing for foreign travel. Affiliated Community Medical Center (ACMC) in Willmar has a International Travel Health Clinic. Staff can provide current recommendations to travelers and provide Yellow Fever vaccinations, if needed. Appointments and Questions 320-231-5070
