Freedom to Breathe LawStatewide Workplace Smoking BanSmoking is prohibited in most indoor public places and indoor places of employment in Minnesota as of Oct. 1, 2007. The Freedom to Breathe Provisions fo the Minnesota Clean Indoor Air Act were signed into law by Governor Tim Pawlenty on May 16, 2007. The Freedom to Breathe Provisions of the Minnesota Clean Indoor Air Act describes where smoking is prohibited, outlines the responsibilities of proprietors and lists facilities and circumstances that are exempt from prohibitions.
