Alcohol Use During Pregnancy

Alcohol Use During Pregnancy:

Using alcohol in any amount and in any form can hurt your unborn baby forever. When a pregnant woman drinks alcohol, she risks having a baby with brain damage causing lifelong speech, learning and behavior problems. There is no amount or type of alcohol she can drink and be completely safe. Whether she drinks socially or because of stress, even if she drinks only a little, she needs your help. If you or someone you know is pregnant and drinking; there is help available.

If you are concerned about your own drinking...you are not alone. Many women share the same concern. Know that people care about you and your baby, and that you can get private, confidential information and support by contacting resources listed below.

If you are concerned about a friend or a loved one...know that you can make a difference by talking to her and showing her you care in a supportive, non-judgmental way. Find a private place, talk to her when she hasn’t been drinking, and tell her you are concerned about her and her baby. Offer her the resources listed below. If she refuses to talk or becomes upset, restate your concern and tell her how much you care.

TALK TO HER. SHOW HER YOU CARE.
